As a health care organization, we strive to maintain a commitment to excellence – and to treat all patients with respect and compassion; to offer them the most advanced, most effective medical treatments and technologies available; to deliver cost-effective, high-quality care; and to respond to their ever-changing health care needs. This was the vision of our forefathers and for nearly 60 years Barton County Memorial Hospital’s physicians, nurses and staff have upheld this vision. We completed the construction of our new facility in the fall of 2007. It is hard to believe that we have already been here a year.

Inpatient and outpatient general surgery including endoscopy, fluoroscopy, gynecological, podiatry surgeries and diagnostic procedures are provided. Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation, ambulatory care, physical, occupational and speech therapy, sleep lab, social services, nuclear medicine and nutritional counseling are all part of outpatient services available at BCMH. Also provided through our referral system is hospice care and home health.

 A unique component to BCMH is the diabetes educational program. This program is ADA (American Diabetes Association) recognized program, we have met the rigorous National Standards to ensure quality and consistent care for our patients. The main component of the diabetes program is the Diabetes Self-Management Training program which empowers patients with the tools and resources necessary to maintain physical and emotional well-being. The program focuses on proper meal planning, exercise and when needed, medications.
